More Netball News

Over the last 12 months Netball at Broomhill has undergone a remarkable transformation thanks to the dedication of a group of Parents who wanted to make a difference. Netball at was Broomhill was a sport we provided to fulfil a criteria or tick a box that said we wanted to offer female sport. The club was unable to take serious players and develop them to their full potential and a lack of focus meant that many girls left the club or left the sport.

One year on Broomhill is breaking down all the stereotypes associated with Netball and Sport in Scotland:

You can’t run successful teams and be inclusive

Yes you can, Broomhill has 12 of their under 15 & 13 players were selected to represent Glasgow District Netball next season. The Broomhill Girls will make up more than 25% of the entire roster for the two youth squads.

Netball Training is limited to a night a week

Not at Broomhill, like our footballers our squad players train at least twice a week.

Female participation in Sport is declining

Not at Broomhill, we have 3 Netball nights at Hyndland Secondary and this year we are introducing a 1 night at Hillhead High School. We will be doing more as soon as we can.
